Our goals are:

  1. 1. to provide East Valley Gardeners opportunities to meet and exchange ideas on gardening from beginners to Master Gardeners and Certified Arborist,

  2. 2.to visit each others’ gardens and learn from their experience,

  3. 3.and provide service and education to our community with demonstration gardening

  4. 4.take fun field trips to very interesting and educational  garden related destinations.

Our next regular club meeting will be on Thursday, 1 Mar 2012 at 7PM in the Kiva Room under the clock tower of the Mesa Community College, Southern and Dobson.  Our speaker will be Marylou Coffman who will speak on roses .  Everyone is invited.

Remember:  Spring gardens can be planted now.  Protect your emerging plants with bird netting and frost protection cloth.  If you use concrete blocks for your raised beds, allow space for useful and friendly lizards to hide.  Plan ahead for automated irrigation.

Free aged goat manure is always available from Terry Johnson at 514 N Signal Butte Rd, Mesa 85207 e-mail:  tgjguitar@msn.com or call 480 620 7041  TO SET UP A TIME TO PICK IT UP.  Terry will bag the manure for you prior to pickup for only $2 per bag (about 60 pounds).  Otherwise you can shovel as much as you want from his goat pens free. Bob’s advice:  Let Terry bag the manure for you.
